The Inaugural Meeting and Industrial Development Conference of the Bio-based Elastomer Branch under China Synthetic Rubber Industry Association was grandly held in Guangzhou on May 13–14. Distinguished industry guests including Academician Zhang Liqun, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Xi’an Jiaotong University, together with elites across the whole industrial chain, gathered to explore new development paths for green new materials.

As a leading enterprise in the bio-based elastomer sector, Chambroad Sinopoly  was appointed the first chairman unit of the Branch, and Liu Xiao, General Manager of the company, was elected its first chairman! The establishment of the Branch received high recognition from Academician Zhang Liqun. He pointed out that the founding of the Bio-based Elastomer Branch marks a milestone for the green and low-carbon transformation of China’s synthetic rubber industry. Chambroad Sinopoly ’s appointment as the chairman unit is a high recognition of its technical strength and industrialization capacity, as well as a heavy responsibility to lead the development of the whole industry.

✅ Grand New Product Launch to Address Core Industry Pain Points

At the conference, Chambroad Sinopoly , in collaboration with Beijing University of Chemical Technology, officially unveiled its new high-performance non-food bio-based itaconate rubber.

✅ Innovative Raw Material: Adopts agricultural and forestry waste such as straw and corn cobs as feedstock, avoiding competition with food crops and cultivated land.

✅ Green & Low-carbon: Cuts CO₂ emissions by approximately 1.4 tons per ton of product, with bio-based carbon content ranging from 20% to 100%.

✅ Outstanding Strength: The world’s first thousand-ton demonstration production line has been completed; the ten-thousand-ton project is under accelerated construction, and the product has obtained the international ISCC PLUS certification.

✅ Wide Application Scope: Suitable for high-end tires, functional footwear and other fields, with performance comparable to world-class advanced standards.

Full-chain Strategic Cooperation to Open a New Chapter of Development

Following the new product launch,Chambroad Sinopoly  signed in-depth strategic cooperation agreements with six leading industrial players: Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Qingdao Kehai Bio, Beijing Ruijing, Sanlux Co., Ltd., Qingdao Shengke and Hangzhou Kunpeng. The partnership forms a closed-loop full industrial chain covering "non-food biomass – itaconic acid – itaconate monomer – bio-based rubber – high-end end products", accelerating the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, driving high-quality industrial development and embodying the sense of responsibility of an industry leader.

Professor Wang Runguo from Beijing University of Chemical Technology delivered a keynote speech focusing on the synthesis and industrialization technologies of bio-based itaconate rubber. His research team has broken through technical barriers of petroleum-based rubber and realized industrial mass production, laying a solid foundation for large-scale high-end application of bio-based elastomers and vigorously boosting the green, low-carbon and high-quality development of the rubber industry.

Goodyear, a global tire giant, has long committed to the R&D and application of bio-based materials. Xue Tianxiang, Head of New Materials & Sustainable Development for Asia Pacific, shared the prospects and market potential of bio-based elastomers in the tire industry and introduced the company’s R&D layout. He stated that such materials can reduce carbon footprints and improve tire performance, representing a mainstream direction for the green and sustainable development of the tire sector.

Linglong Tire, a domestic leading tire manufacturer, has carried out in-depth research on bio-based material tires and yielded numerous achievements. Li Yanguo, Director of the Company’s Formulation Department, shared relevant research progress. She noted that large-scale adoption of bio-based materials can effectively cut carbon footprints, greatly enhance the market competitiveness of tire products and advance the green transformation of the tire industry.

Wang Zhou, General Manager of Hangzhou Kunpeng Rubber & Plastic, delivered a keynote speech centered on the applied research and industrial demonstration of itaconate rubber in special safety rubber boots. With years of profound experience in special rubber products and solid technical accumulation, he verified through real industrial cases that itaconate rubber can meet the stringent requirements of high-end special working conditions. The findings not only support the large-scale application of this material in special rubber boots, but also lay a solid industrial foundation for its expansion into more industrial scenarios.

Ma Dongli from Beijing Ruijing Latex Products shared the design and development of high-performance bio-based itaconate rubber gloves. As a representative of downstream application enterprises, he presented innovative industrialization results of itaconate rubber in civil protective products. Bio-based protective gloves integrate environmental friendliness, safety and wearing comfort with broad market prospects, opening up brand-new technical routes and application directions for the green and low-carbon upgrading of the civil latex products industry.

From technological breakthroughs to industrial leadership, from prestigious honors to strategic partnerships, Chambroad Sinopoly  always takes technological innovation as the core, implements the national Dual Carbon Strategy and devotes itself to the field of green new materials.
